Business plan of your future: The benefits of EB-2 NIW US visa

An EB-2 visa is an employment-based visa (a green-card) for people who either have an advanced degree or exceptional ability.

The candidates who can prove that their employment would be in the national interest of the United States may apply for a national interest waiver (NIW) as a part of their EB-2 petition.

The NIW (National Interest Waiver) means that you are not required to have employer sponsorship or a labor certification.

To get NIW, you need to prove:
  • that your case has "substantial value and national importance"
  • that you have enough skills to realize your idea
  •  that it is in the interests of the United States not to require a job offer and PERM certification from you

To prove these points you will need a clear business plan. We help to prepare it as part of our copywriting services for US visas

Advanced Degree or Exceptional Ability

The applicant must also show one of two:

  • Foreign Degree Equivalent: Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years post-bachelor's work experience
  •  Exceptional ability in one's field: "a degree of expertise significantly above that ordinarily encountered in the sciences, arts, or business"

Who can apply?

Any foreigner who can prove high qualifications and the fact that his/her life and work in the United States will bring significant benefits to the country can apply for this visa.

The list includes: entrepreneurs, small business owners, healthcare professionals, scientists, artists, educators, technologists, urbanists, researchers, professional athletes, consultants, and many others.

Visa benefits:
  • Unlike other employment green card categories, EB-2 NIW does not require employer sponsorship: you can apply on your own
  • After 5 years you can apply for citizenship
  • Your spouse and children under the age of 21 can travel with you as dependаnts
  • You can travel freely from the USA
  • Visa requirements are relatively lower than EB-1 visa requirements
